Political and health leaders have praised the Queenslanders’ actions during the outbreak but urged them to stay home.

Mr Miles said today’s case numbers are “encouraging” news.

He thanked the more than 7,000 people who were in quarantine at home and called them Queensland’s “first line of defense”.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Jeanette Young agreed.

“This is very encouraging news for Queensland and the southeast corner has done a great job getting us into that position,” she said.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath was also full of praise.

“Thank you, Queensland,” she said.

“Please keep doing this great job for the next few days.”
