Funding to support projects such as a community arts center, choir program, mural festival, and more
A variety of nonprofit arts organizations will receive a total of $ 121,550 from the Capital’s Regional District Arts Commission as part of this year’s second grant award.
According to the commission, the project grant allocation for 2021 is in line with previous years, totaling $ 240,000 to be distributed to 31 arts organizations, including 17 in this latest funding round.
The funding supports creative projects such as a research laboratory at the Metchosin Arts and Cultural Center, a mural festival in Esquimalt and various others.

The Esquimalt Community Arts Hub, the Voices in Motion Choral Society and the Wonderheads Theater will receive funding for the first time.
“With BC’s restart plan expected to allow for a return to organized gatherings in the coming months, we can expect some incredible personal and digital arts programs this year,” said Victoria Coun. Jeremy Loveday, Chairman of the CRD Arts Commission.
These projects will ensure that the remainder of 2021 will help renew artist creativity and demonstrate how art is a central part of Greater Victoria’s creative community, he added.
