After the strange and sad 2020 that saw the loss of Houston Restaurant Weeks Founder and food journalist Cleverley stone In May of this year, it’s good to hear that charity dining is back to normal in 2021. This year the participating restaurants will serve the multi-course menus at a fixed price of August 1st to September 6th and funds remain dedicated to the Houston Food Bank.

Like last year, Stone’s daughter Katie continues the great job of overseeing the charity event through the Cleverley Stone Foundation. As the country returns to normal after COVID, donations per meal have returned to more normal levels, unlike last year when badly affected restaurants were only expected to contribute one dollar per meal. That means the Houston Food Bank receives $ 1 for the lunches and brunch, which are worth $ 20, $ 3 for dinners that sold for $ 35, and $ 5 for dinner, which cost $ 49 during the week-long campaign; Funds will be contributed by the restaurants at the end of the event. A good carry-over from 2020: The dishes are also available to take away.
Restaurants have a lot of leeway when it comes to meals, both in terms of dishes and the number of courses. Brunch and lunch are either two or three courses, while dinner is three or four courses.
The Houston Restaurant Weeks website is an important guest resource and is urgently updated. Restaurant owners can now download menu templates as well as enter and update their offers. This year’s list of attendees will be posted on July 15th and will be updated by August 1st as new restaurants are added.
Guests wanting an idea of what’s on the market can check out the 2020 list. Historically, the restaurants that participate do this year after year, and as diners want to go out again, the list for 2021 is very likely bigger than ever.
