Houston Restaurant Weeks returns in 2021 with takeaway and supply choices

Houston Restaurant Week is making its highly anticipated return starting August 1st this year and runs through September 6th.

The month-long food event was launched by the Cleverley Stone Foundation to support the Houston Food Bank. This year, the charity event offers Houston foodies multiple options, including multi-course, fixed-price menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

For 2021, the Houston Restaurant Weeks’ motto has changed to “Dine Out and Do Good” in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to “Take Out and Do Good”. Not only are HRW specials available for dinner, but also take-away meals.

This year, one dollar from every meal purchased at participating restaurants will be donated to the Houston Food Bank. The amount donated is lower than in previous years, but the list of participating restaurants in Houston is larger.

More than 250 restaurants are expected to take part in this year’s HRW.

Multi-course menus have different prices. Four-course meals cost $ 49, with a $ 5 donation going to the blackboard, according to a press release. Three-course meals are $ 35, a $ 3 donation. Meals such as brunch and lunch cost $ 20 and are donated with a $ 1 donation.

GOOD LUCK: Houston’s OMG Hip-Hop Food Fest is a gimmick, but it could be more

Founded by the late Cleverly Stone, affectionately known as the “Diva of Dining,” the table’s philanthropic endeavors have raised more than $ 16.6 million. the Houston Chronicle preview reported. Stone died of cancer last May. Her daughter, Katie Stone, took over after her death.

“I am humble and admire what has happened to restaurants here in Houston over the past month,” Stone said in a press release. “HRW came at a time that couldn’t have been more important this year, and I am so inspired and so grateful to be able to continue my mother’s cause of family feeding in Houston.”

Starting July 15, guests will be able to view the list of participating restaurants and menus on the HRW website. Restaurants will be added to the website by August 1st.
