New clinic for COVID-19, chilly and flu opens at Victoria Hospital

The COVID-19 Assessment Center at the London Health Sciences Center is expanding services and will now be known as the Covid, Cold and Flu Care Clinic (CCFCC).

The purpose of the new clinic is to ease the pressure on emergency departments and provide alternative accessible care for the community, said a joint statement from LHSC and the Middlesex London Ontario Health Team released Friday.

The CCFCC’s role is to provide assessment, testing and treatment for adult patients with symptoms of COVID-19, cold and flu. The clinic will expand to serve pediatric patients in the near future, the statement said.

“We are well equipped to expand the services offered at the assessment center and help relieve some of the pressures currently in our adult EDs,” said Deborah Wiseman, president of Victoria Hospital.

The new Covid, Cold and Flue Care Clinic will be open seven days a week, from 9:20 am to 6:30 pm (Submitted by LHSC)

Health care officials said residents are urged to make an appointment with the CCFCC if they don’t have a primary care provider or symptoms get worse. They also say people who are at high risk of getting very sick from COVID-19 should call.

The CCFCC is located in Building 24 of Victoria Hospital, 800 Commissioners Rd E. The clinic is open seven days a week, from 9:20 am to 6:30 pm

Appointments must be made in advance online or by calling 519-685-8500, ext. 75503.
