A new City of Fremantle parking lot is now available on Queen Victoria Street.
The new parking lot at the intersection of Queen Victoria Street and James Street has 75 parking spaces and costs just $ 1.90 per hour or $ 9.50 for the whole day. It’s even cheaper with the City’s PayStay parking app.
Deputy Mayor Andrew Sullivan said the new car park would be an inexpensive and convenient option for visitors to Fremantle’s East End.
“The City of Fremantle manages more than 2,300 parking spaces in our 28 off-street parking lots across the city, as well as over a thousand on-street parking spaces,” said Cr Sullivan.
“The new building on Queen Victoria Street was occupied by Shacks Holden, but when they decided to consolidate their operations across the street, we negotiated a management contract to get access to the site.
“It’s just a short walk from the city center and also has easy access to city amenities like the Fremantle Arts Center and Fremantle Leisure Center, as well as popular venues like Sunshine Harvester Works, Gesha Coffee and all the great businesses around Queen Victoria Street . “
Parking in the City of Fremantle’s off-street car parks in more central locations is $ 2.50 per hour, while parking on the outskirts of the city center is just $ 1.90 per hour or $ 9.50 for the whole day.
The easiest, cheapest and most convenient way to park in Fremantle is to use the PayStay app, which is parked to the minute, so you only pay for the time used.
Drivers using PayStay receive 20 cents an hour in all off-street car parks in the City of Fremantle and $ 1 per day in car parks that are charged daily. A discount of 10 cents per hour applies to PayStay with parking on the street.
Half an hour of free parking is available on West End High Street and Adelaide Street between Parry and Queen Streets.
The City also offers the second hour for free in the Cappuccino Strip car park on South Terrace, Parry Street car park, and Point Street outdoor car park.
Fremantle residents can also apply for a Free After 3 resident parking permit, which allows them to park for free in the street parking lots from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. seven days a week.
