Victorian health officials are considering lifting masking requirements in offices this week to encourage more workers to return to Melbourne’s CBD.
When Victoria recorded a fifth straight day of zero new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the state government considered lifting the mandatory mask rule in offices that has caused consternation among companies in recent weeks.

While indoor spaces like supermarkets would still require masks for the foreseeable future, infectious disease experts and business experts felt it was logical to think of offices as separate entities as they are controlled environments where employees know what each other is contact tracking simplified.
