Just after 9 p.m. on May 10, officers were called to the 1300 block of Wharf Street to obtain a report on at least four people who had physically argued. Upon arrival, they found that a youth had been attacked and had not suffered life-threatening injuries. The suspects had already left the area.

After checking the video surveillance, the police found that the youth had been attacked by at least two people before a passer-by tried to intervene. This man was then kicked, beaten, and hit with a skateboard. He left the scene and has not communicated with the police since.
The police are now asking anyone with information about the incident – especially the man who intervened – to contact them. Information can be reported to the VicPD reporting desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1, or anonymously to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
