Owner says the decision “was not an easy one, but it was the right one”
A popular restaurant in Greater Victoria is the newest to have permanently closed its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mo: Lé restaurant, which served breakfast and lunch all day, announced its final closure on its Facebook page on June 20.
In a short video, owner Josh Miller said the decision to close both downtown Victoria and Langford locations “wasn’t an easy one, but it was the right one”.
Miller has been in the food industry for 16 years and said it was one of the most amazing times in his life. Mo: Lé was featured in You Gotta Eat Here on the Food Network and in Air Canada’s enRoute magazine.

“Over the past few years I’ve felt my passion in business wear off,” Miller said in the post. “It’s difficult even in the best of times, and right now it’s not the best time. I thought to myself […] the best thing is to just sum it up and be grateful for what we have and move on. “
Miller praised his staff and thanked customers who regularly came through the doors to eat and chat.
“I know everyone will land on their feet, I know,” Miller said. “We can only think of all the great times. Thank you for everything and see you on the other side. “
