Victoria Stickney Obituary (1990-2021) – Morehead Metropolis, NC

Beloved daughter, beloved sister, and loving mother, Victoria Jeanette Stickney, 30, of Cherryville, NC, died at Duke University Hospital on Sunday, March 21, 2021 after a brave battle with a sudden illness.

Victoria graduated from Burns High School, where she was an active choir member with her beloved teacher, Mrs. Goss. She participated in Shelby High School Children’s Theater for many years. She was active in the choir, in youth groups and assisted in church services in the Church of the Savior in Shelby. She has cared for and cared for a number of friends and family members in the ward at home.

Her sons, Sherron and Bryson, were her greatest joy and she was proud of her accomplishments and celebrated them. She enjoyed her role as the older sister and shared a special bond with her sister Sarah. Her open-minded personality, infectious smile, and caring demeanor made her loved by many who were lucky enough to meet her.

She is survived by her sons Sherron Whitworth and Bryson Hogue of Newport, NC; Parents, Robert Stickney Jr. and Leslie Richardson of Newport, NC; Sister Sarah Stickney of Hickory, NC; Aunts and uncles, Susan Richardson and Celine Boyle, both from Kennebunk, ME, Kyle and Doug Clarkson from Irvine, CA, Christine Stickney, Linda Landau and John and Ruth Stickney, all from Stanwood, WA, Richard and Theany Stickney from Lake Stevens, WA, Debbie Woolard from Tacoma, WA, Pat Woolard, and Sonny Williams, both from Williamston, NC; many loving cousins; and special friends, Matthew, Nathan, Annette, and Corey.

Victoria preceded her paternal grandparents, Bob and Charlotte Stickney, in death; Maternal grandparents, Bill and Pauline Richardson; and her beloved other mother, Brenda Cook.

The family would like to thank all of their loving friends who supported them and family through this illness, as well as the doctors and nurses at Atrium Carolinas Medical Center and Duke University Hospital for providing such empathic care.

The funeral will take place at a later date at the Church of the Savior in Shelby, NC.
