Waterway Theater Show seeks performs, actors for 2021 SKAMpede in Victoria – Monday Journal

The SKAM theater is looking for interesting submissions for SKAMpede 2021.

The 2021 festival will look similar to 2020, according to Logan Swain, production manager. The spectators register for physically distant cycling or hiking tours, which consist of small groups of up to 12 people. For every outdoor show, physically distant viewing areas are allocated.

The organizers need short new works and offer paid youth opportunities.

There is a special submission category for a play performed by the SKAM Young Company, a theater SKAM youth acting troupe consisting of four members aged 15-19, the SYC Game Selection Committee. The selected playwright will receive US $ 600, and both actors and selected committee members will receive honoraria.

For the 13th year, the SKAMpede Festival is showing small, family-friendly performances of all kinds in a spectacle along the Galloping Gänseweges. Audiences of the past have absorbed comedy, drama, storytelling, spoken word, improvisation, music, puppetry, dance, and more. Up to 12 short works will be programmed this year.

All interested artists and playwrights can submit their entries on skam.ca by March 16. Email [email protected] for more information.
