At the Abbott house, Ashland thanks Jack for meeting him. Jack tries to reassure him how much he and Kyle care. Ashland interrupts. He’s made a decision and while unable to connect with Kyle, he tells Jack to call him now so he can tell them what he thinks is the best way forward for his son. After talking to Kyle off-screen, Jack tells Ashland that they will have a video call. Ashland insists this is not cut off and dry and is concerned about Harrison’s well being. When they join the video call, Kyle asks what Ashland decided. Ashland sums up how awful Tara was to Kyle before moving on to his new treatments. If they’re not working, he could be gone in a few months, so he wants to spend as much time with Harrison as possible. That said, he can’t bear to hold out on it when things get really bad. Ashland explains that after Harrison’s mother leaves, he needs a full-time father, which he currently cannot be. Kyle smiles on the video screen.

Ashland will visit between treatments or they can meet in New York in between. Kyle agrees; It’s an excellent plan. Ashland wishes to be free to visit whenever his health allows. Kyle replies, “Done.” Ashland realizes that Tara wants to see him and that there must be strict protocols for these visits. Kyle worries what he’s being told. Ashland thinks they have to tell him the truth – something like mommy has been out for a long time and needs to take responsibility for their actions. Jack suggests being less harsh, but Ash doesn’t want to lie. Kyle agrees with Ashland, so Jack gets in. Kyle swears to be the best father he can be to Harrison. Jack is beaming. Ashland doesn’t want Harrison to think he’s abandoning him and goes upstairs to see the boy.

Jack turns back to Kyle, who is overwhelmed. Jack knows it wasn’t easy for Locke. He asks how Kyle is feeling about everything else. Kyle made the right decision even though he knows it will be an adjustment. Jack thinks it’s bittersweet, but that’s for the best, so he’ll be fine with it. Kyle asks Jack to take Harrison to Milan. There’s nothing Jack would like better.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria meets Billy, who tells that Katie hopes to be a flower girl at her wedding, and Johnny hopes the cake will be chocolate. Victoria is relieved that they are not upset. Billy assures her that if they ask questions, they’ll handle it together as always. The conversation revolves around Ashland’s chemo. Victoria hopes this will give them more time together. Billy ponders how she’s had a lot to do with the merger and everything. Victoria invites him to share what is really on his mind. Billy thinks that deep down she is afraid of making a mistake and uses it to express her doubts. Billy is amused at trying to get each other psychoanalysed and thinks they might have found the healthy ex-sweet spot, and Victoria thinks the technical term is “friends.” They share a smile.
Devon stops by Chance Comm to see Lily. She senses something is wrong and he admits that he was desperate on the way to Abby. He informs her of Mariah’s absence and informs her that the police are intervening. Lily is stunned when she hears the latest developments and asks about Abby. Devon says she’s doing great considering chance is still gone, but you realize it’s killing her. Lily believes she has a lot of support, but Devon is frustrated with Chance, who chose to live with Abby and decided to take on the case after they decided to have a surrogate child. It feels like he prefers his job to responsibility to his family! Lily urges him not to share these feelings with Abby, who knew what she was getting into when she married him. Devon is more angry with the situation than Chance and wishes he could do more.
At the Abbotts’ house, Ashland meets Jack again and says Harrison left it. It comforts him to know that he is in the care of Jack’s family. Jack knows it was a difficult year. Ashland tells him that Victoria is pulling him out of the dark. Jack has known her all his life: “She’s a guard. Hold on. “Ashland intends to do it.

Devon meets Victoria on the terrace of the coffee house. She admits she hasn’t contacted Abby about the baby in a while. Devon thinks she would appreciate it. He mentions speaking to his own sister Lily, and Victoria shares how grateful she was for her help with the children. It speaks of the kind of woman she is and the great place she and Billy are in.
At the park, Jack arranges for the jet to take him and Harrison to Italy when Devon shows up. Jack informs him about Summer and Kyle moving to Europe, and Ashland lets Harrison live with them. Devon is impressed with Locke’s unselfishness; That makes you a good parent. He wishes that others understood that. Jack asks, “Who are we talking about now?” Devon thought only of Chance and the endless case he is in. The discussion turns to Mariah’s disappearance before Devon wishes Jack all the best on his adventure with his grandson. Alone once, Devon gets out his cell phone and calls someone for a favor … that’s pretty important.

On Chance Comm, Billy tells Lily about his interview with Victoria on Crimson Lights. She teases, “I love hearing you brood over your ex.” Billy explains that they are working towards a healthy balance. Lily thinks Victoria and Billy like it when things are unresolved between them – they feed on competitive sentiment. This triggers an idea for Billy – interviews about exes who have to live together. You can call it the spirit of love. He thinks Lily would be fantastic for that. Lily wonders: “It’s one of the best tricks I’ve ever seen you do.”

Lily really thinks Billy and Victoria like it when things are unresolved. Billy counters that Lily might like it because it gives her a reason not to be fully involved. She argues that she did nothing but prove her commitment – one of them is wrong here! Billy loves Lily; She is his future and no one else. But he gets an opinion on Victoria’s life because it affects his children. Lily is skeptical that it’s all about the kids. Billy admits it isn’t – the truth, as hard as he tries to convince himself that Victoria is doing the right thing in marrying Ashland, goes against every instinct he has. “It’s a mistake. It may be the biggest mistake Victoria will ever make in her life.”

At home, Ashland says to Victoria, “It’s done.” She wonders how Harrison reacted to going to Italy. Ashland says he wanted to know if he would see him and promised to visit him whenever he could. Victoria never respected him anymore. Ashland sees his life from a new perspective these days – thanks to her. Victoria notes that he does the work. He teases her that she has to learn to take a compliment. Victoria loves him for his choices. Ashland insists it’s her influence and asks her to help him choose a date for their wedding.
